Events for January - National Thank You Month

Wednesday 1/11/11 - Winter Wonderland Social

Please join us from 5:30-6:30 for a family fun night. Decorate a winter snowflake, decorate a cupcake and so much more! Don’t miss out on all the family fun!

Thursday 1/19/11 - Thank You Day!

Today the children will be making Thank You Cards for community helpers!

Friday 1/20/11 - Thank You Celebration!

Today we will be having Community Helpers such as a Police Officer, Fireman, Nurse and US Marine visit Tutor Time! They will be reading stories about kindness. The children will also give community helpers Thank You cards they made for them!

Events for February - Friendship Month

Friday 2/3/11 - Superbowl Funday!

Join in on all the fun and be sure to wear your favorite teams jersey, t-shirt, pants, hats, socks, etc.!

Friday 2/9/11 - Friendship Family Quilt Day!

We invite parents in from 10:30-11:00 to join us in making a “Tutor Time Family Friendship Quilt”. You will decorate a square of a quilt with a family picture and express what family and friendship means to you!

Tuesday 2/14 - Happy Valentine’s Day!

Please join us for our annual Friendship Social 5:30-6:30.
We will have a special treat that you and your child can decorate, a friendship arts and craft activity and so much more! Please join us in celebrating friendships made here at Tutor Time!

Monday 2/20-Friday 2/24 - Pen pal Friendship Week!

This week our 3’s & 4’s rooms will be writing friendship letters & making friendship bracelets to send over to our Tutor Time friends in Milford!

Events for March - National Nutrition Month

Friday 3/2/11 - Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Today we will be celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday by starting off the day with eating Green eggs and reading “Green Eggs and Ham”! Throughout the day we will be doing all sorts of Dr. Seuss activities! Children can also dress up as their favorite Dr. Seuss characters!

Wednesday 3/7/11 - Taste The Rainbow!

Healthy Fruit Salad making day! We invite our parents in from
10:30-11:00 to make a rainbow fruit salad and to learn about healthy eating habits. We hope you are able to join us!

Friday 3/16/11 - Happy St. Patrick’s!

Be sure to dress in all green! Today the 3’s and 4’s will be having a “Follow The Rainbow to the Pot of Gold” scavenger hunt!

• Tutor Time in Norwalk is excited to announce our new Happy Panda Chinese language enrichment program for our Pre-K children! We will be introducing the children to words, writing characters, learning about China and also making rice and using chopsticks. See Enrichment Programs under our Home Page for more details.

• Hola! Our Spanish Program "Tutor Tiempo" is here! Be sure to ask the front desk and your child's Pre-K teachers about the latest and greatest Spanish program we have been doing with all of our 4 year olds! The kids love it! The teachers love it! Be sure to check out our Spanish Curriculum which is located on the parent information board. Adios!

• Kinderdance is here at Tutor Time!
  Kinderdance programs consist of developmentally appropriate, planned curriculum and teach various forms of movement and dance. The programs encourage the development of gross motor skills, body awareness, strength and coordination.
  Tutor Time offers both Kinderdance and Kindergym for 3-5 year-old girls and boys: Kinderdance® – The basics of ballet and tap dance are taught along with creative movement, acrobatics and motor skills; and Kindergym® – A fitness class emphasizing floor gymnastics and motor skills, with choreographed routines for stretching and coordination.

• Tutor Time Child Care now offers "Infant Sign at Tutor Time"!
  Teaching infant's sign language gives them many early developmental advantages, that is why we are introducing a sign language program into our infant classroom. There are many benefits to signing with infants. Signing creates a new awareness of a preverbal baby's potential, strenghtens the caregiver-infant bond, reduces frustration for babies and caregivers, stimulates intellectual development, enhances infant self-esteem, accelerates verbal language development, and provides a window into a baby's world.
